Among the seventeen books in the prophetic section are the "major" prophets of : Isaiah, Jeremiah (who also wrote Lamentations), Ezekiel and Daniel. The twelve "minor" prophets are: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi. A truly outstanding publication that has just been released at the 2006 "Godly Deliverance" International Conventions is entitled, "Live With Jehovah's Day in Mind". This wonderful book shows that these 12 so called "minor prophets" were truly spiritual men who had problems just like we face today. We can learn from their fine examples and see that while many of the prophecies that they recorded so long ago have been fulfilled, many of their prophecies touch deeply on our lives today. The next time that Jehovah's Witnesses call at your door, ask them to bring you a copy of the book "Live With Jehovah's Day in Mind". There is no charge for the book. The work is supported entirely by voluntary contributions.

The minor prophets, the last twelve books of the Old Testament, are referred to as minor prophets only because their writings are considerably shorter that the writings of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. By putting all the minor prophets together their writings roughly equals the length of a major prophet’s scroll. The contents of their prophecies were as powerful and moving as the major prophets. The minor prophets were moved upon by the Holy Spirit and spoke not their words but the words of God flowing through them.
