do they

I think they would rather be called, In Love!
-
Well, I don't personally know any lesbians who "prefer" that. I use any of those myself. Doesn't matter to me at all.
-
The gay woman who is homosexual that I work with prefers being called 'woman'. But if you have to pigeon-hole her, she prefers lesbian. I asked.
-
Probably because it is more specific. One cannot by definition be a "male lesbian." Also, they probably like the historical reference to Lesbos and therefore Sappho, one of the more famous Greek poets.
-
all of the ladies I have know through the years all prefered to be called lesbians and not gay ...their reason was simple gays have dicks ... and they don't unless they strap one on, to them gay refers to the male and not to the female ... and I am one who will correct you everytime ... the same as I am not gay ...I am bisexual
-
Okay I'm gonna go out on a limb here because I don't understand why we label them gay or lesbian in the first place.
-
lol, I don't think anyone asked them at it's begining.
-
I dunno, it just seems like "gay" is now associated more with two guys than with two girls. I personally can't stand being called anything like that. There's so much more to it for me than any word could convey. Who can really sum up all of their emotional, romantic, physical, and sexual preferences/orientations in one word?
-
I use it interchangeably.
-
If they do prefer being called lesbian, I suppose it's because the word refers to they're sex as well as they're sexuality. A man can not be called a lesbian, but you can be called gay whether you're male or female. Would you rather be called a man/woman or a person? I don't think there is a preferance, it's just that one word is more descriptive than the other, and might be more conveniant when answering a certain question.
-
For me, lesbian seems to automaticly be seen as less "dykish" than gay lesbian is specifically female, and automaticly brings to mind hot lesbians in porn films rather than gay which is used more when talking about actually lesbians and often we arnt 6 foot blondes Also there is the Lesbos sapphic reference
-
I hate the word lesbian it makes it sound like i have some sort of disease i actually prefer gay.
-
some might but remember not all!!
