I was using a chef knife to slice through a block of cheese, the hand holding the end of the knife slipped, the tip of the knife went into the fleshy part of my hand under the little finger, went in so deep that I had small piece of the inside of my and hanging out, bled like crazy..got 11 stitches.

The worst thing that happened to me was a cut finger. A band aid healed it right up.

I had 15 sheets of sheetrock fall on me and, due to the proxiity of a ladder behind me, my butt didn't hit the ground... though the back of my left knee did. Hyperextended the shit out of it. That was almost eight years ago, I still limp, that knee aches severely in bad weather, and my job options are limited as a result. Yet all I got was four months of Worker's comp and a $950 bill for the MRI that they denied and I managed to dodge by wrapping it up in litigation indefinitely. Fuck you Wassau, and fuck you TPI!

I fell in a stairwell, some idiots waxed the tile landing between two stair cases.

When I worked as a dental asst., I smashed and cut my thumb as I folded back the xray machine. I don't know why you had a -3 on your question. I gave you +5 to try and set it right as much as I could.

It does not sound like much unless you think about it: I was changing a bed after a patient had been discharged. I was to pull and discard the old sheets, cleanse the mattress, and remake it. Someone left a used diabetic lancet in the bed and I was stuck. This was in the early 90's. I had to have HIV tests for years. I have had much more damaging injuries but that is the one that could have killed me.

I burnt my middle and ring finger on a hot pan, the blisters were HUGE......but my sister dumped hot oil on her feet and ALOT of skin just melted off, she had huge blisters too

I haven't suffered any injuries but my Dad had his wrist crushed at work a few years ago and had to have surgery and might have to go in for more surgery he hasn't been able to work since. But at least physiotherapy has reduced the pain.

I'm almost embarrassed about this one. When I was working for the Forest Service, we were required to see a doctor for every injury. I got a staple stuck in my finger and the supervisor made me take the rest of the day off and visit the doctor. Other than that, I never have.

hmmm sure u should know...it was back in august, i was lifting a case of water and it slipped from my hand but i didnt let it go and tried to hold it again, after 2 days my hand was hurting, especially my middle finger, that same night i got scared so i went to ER and they found out that there was a ganglion cyst at the end of the finger, took a while in getting a doc then he told me that i would have to get a surgery for it, finally i did and it killed me in the first days and since im right handed it was so hard to write, or couldnt do it at all. it also got infected later for which i had to go to the hospital everyday for antibiotics through IV, oh God how much did i hate those needles, anyway now my finger cant go all the way back but that ugly thing is out of it and i got paid for it too =)

I worked fast food (pizza by the slice) for a while, and my pride was injured ever day. That is until I started screwing with the customers/management/anyone I wanted to...
-
I was a bagger at Kroger during college when I was asked by my manager to change a customer's tire. As I was under the car changing the tire, a car that was parked near the car I was working under ran over my foot. My foot acted as a block under the car's tire. Since he couldn't go forward, the driver decided to punch the gas! My foot wasn't broken, but it was black and blue from heel to toe. I missed a week of work and it happened a week before finals. I spent study week on percocet.

Shot twice and took some shrapnel in the back, all in a single day. Man, that sucked.

I was cutting an old exhaust system into pieces with a blowtorch. I left to attend to a customer and came back in 2 or 3 minutes. Picked up where I left off. While I was gone someone else had decided to help me and was cutting with the torch right where I picked it up. The rusty exhaust pipe stuck to my hand and I had to pull it off of my palm like there was glue on it. 3rd degree burns, and 6 weeks of tylenol 3. I passed out because of the pain twice, once when it happened and once when they "Cleaned" (removed the skin) the wound.

I ruptured both biceps tendons from the bone in my arm and my entire bicep muscle rolled up under my armpit !! Yes ! It hurt like nine kinds of Hell and it had to be surgically repaired and I had about eight weeks of therapy on it after the splint/brace came off.

well, i used to work at pizza hut as a cook. this one day i was on dish, and some idiot took a pan directly out of the 475 degree oven and instead of putting it under the cut station with the others to cool before being washed, they put it directly into one of the dishwasher racks. (with the aid of these special metal tong things we use to lift the pans out of the oven.) i was putting all the spare dishes i saw into one single rack to put through the dishwasher, and when i saw the pan i thought it might just have been a spare that fell on the floor. the rule is you're never supposed to put a hot pan ANYWHERE but on the floor to be washed. so i grabbed it to move it into the rack with the other stuff. i didn't know a person could swear so loudly and horrendously and still keep their job. some customers DID hear me in the dining room. needless to say, i got several shifts off with pay.

the worst injury that happened to me at work... well, once i slammed a car door on my right thumb, i tried to open it straight away but it was locked. i had to get the keys and unlock it before i could take it out! compared to the others it is quite major but it throbbed and stung like hell... after a while the thumb nail came off, but three years later and it is still deformed and painfully sensitive.

The same one I'm still working through almost 3 years later. Lower back injury, have had three surgeries on the area the latest (spinal fusion) just back in the middle of September. That was a twofer, and I'm still in the process of recovering...and fighting with social Security.

I tore my damn thumbnail off with an electric knife. That hurt like so much, but, at least I bled all over the ham I was supposed to be cutting ha ha-which was never my job to begin with.
-
I slipped on a pool of water at work two years ago and hurt my elbow and damaged my right shoulder. Had to have surgery two weeks ago on my shoulder as only had limited use.It will be another six months at least before I return to work.
