Is there any law, South Carolina specifically, that limits a "lifetime" warranty to a numerical limit?

Possibly it could mean the product would be guaranteed to limit your lifetime!

It's limited in that it won't cover certain things that may happen to the product, but the things that it does cover is good for the life of the product.

it means that the expected life time of a product and it is limited because it may not cover all aspecs.

usually means certain things are under lifetime warranty but certain things are not covered after the initial 1 year or 90 days or whatever
