I think it depends on your definition of "replace." It is clear that the world's population is still growing. So yes, for every person that dies, there is at least one person currently born. But is there any "connection" between the two events, other than they happened at the same time? Extremely doubtful, in my opinion. +2 ? pts

I think its more than one person born for everyone that dies...people are having WAY to many babies!

No, if that was the case the population would have reamined the same throughout history. Also, how do you explain high birth rates and low death rates (or vice versa) in different countries.
