  • Join the military. Seriously. You can learn a skill, and they will push you to become a better, more disciplined person. The private sector loves to hire ex-military people too. They work hard and follow directions.
  • You might consider counseling. Apparently you have made some choices that didn't turn out the way you anticipated. The consequences are where you now find yourself. You obviously need to make different choices. One approach is to ask where you would like to be 10 years from now. If you can picture that, and the vision is at least 51% possible, then begin working at everything that will make that vision a reality and avoid anything that is distracting from the vision. What it sounds like you need is a change of attitude. If this is true, counseling might be the answer.
  • Get any job you can. Start making and saving money so that you can move out. I had to move back in with my parents. It was only for a year, and wasn't so bad, but still...independence is nice.
  • Dont join the military. Get a job that no one else wants to do. Like driving a taxi. You can make good money driving a taxi. It takes some money to get started. A blue tooth cell phone for one. Everyone will tell you its a rough job. But women are driving. You could talk to some taxi drivers. You wont get much encouragement about driving a taxi. But in the long run, you would benefit from it. You would learn to not take any shit from anybody. You might have to take some tests, go to some classes, but it is a rewarding job. Like I say, no one will encourage you, except other taxi drivers.
  • why not try and figure out what you like and/or what you want to do and do it. take up a hobby, a musical intrument, learn a language.
  • You have to start somewhere, even if it's a job you didn't think you wanted to do. Sometimes, even in the worst jobs, you can meet people and learn of other opportunities you never knew were available. I was once working in a sewing factory, and met a lady who had worked at a pharmaceutical distributor in the next county and had gotten laid off a few years before. After getting to know her, she convinced me to apply there. I was hired for a part-time telemarketing job with them and from that moved onto becoming one of the top national salespeople for a very large organization. You just have to persevere and never give up striving for something better.
