not really, unless you are feeling love feelings toward him. Are you attracted to guys? if yes, then you're gay. If not you're not. If yes, and also attracted to women, you're bi.

No unless you are sexually attracted to him. It is normal for humans to feel content when others acknowledge them.

Sometimes we have a tendency to place friends in certain levels, or groups. We have our reliable friends group, we have our acquaintances groups, we have our group that we relate to, our group that we are a part of that we wish to relate to. Quite often in men who don't feel like attractive men, they have a group of friends who they deem to be 'good looking' and long to be part of that group. This is common in all ages, most often in School because of group pressure to fit in. When one of the friends of that group acknowledges you, you perhaps feel a greater level of acceptance by that group or members of it, making you feel special because you assign that group special meaning. Unless you are sexually attracted to that individual, you should not wonder about your sexuality.

If you are LGBT, you are attracted to the same gender. If this is what you mean by "feeling special" from this statement, then you could be LGBT. However, I think that most people feed positively about when anyone speaks highly of them, whether they are straight or LGBT. So you may be reading waaaaay too much into this. Good luck!
