For my pets the actual procedure of implanting the chip was about 45 USD...then you had to register the chip number which cost about 20 USD. Additionally everytime you move I believe it's about 10 USD to update the info in the system.

It doesn't cost very much to get your dog chipped, I think I paid 40 GBP overall. But I think it is well worth the money getting your dog chipped, adds an extra sense of safety and reassurance if your dog ever ran away or got stolen etc :)
