The Rock Island line is no more. My grandfather was a fireman on it in about 1910 to 1925. I know it ran at least from Davenport Iowa as far west as Colorado Springs and went through Simla, CO, where they lived. I have a professional photo of my grandpa standing by one of the engines. I've been to Simla and my uncle is buried there who died of the Spanish flu in 1916 I believe.
