Hello. Having 8 years of professional detailing experience I can help you with this. FIRST is once you swirl or scratch a car finish you have done so on a permanent basis unless you repaint.
What you need to do is fill in the scraches/swirls. Buffing out with a NON abrasive glaze is best, however if you had the proper knowledge to this, at this point then you would never had swirled/scratched it in the first place. Just because someone says they are a professional buffer is not a guarantee they know what they are doing either, many detail shops have buffers who ruin finishes also. You can see the swirls best under a street light at night so do your final inspection under one. I have a few tips that you may be able to pull off, first make sure you are using a premium glaze (from auto parts store) Use a major name such as Mequires glaze and rub out by hand. Use circular motions and if needed you may add corn starch to the glaze as additional filler. Then use a quality wax as your final finish. If this fails to help then you will need to find a detailer who really does know his stuff.
Remember the street light
