That depends on what kind of form you signed. Generally it is just a criminal background check. However some employers also request credit checks to see if you are high risk to them, (such as a bank teller) for some reason they think us broke folks are going to rob them blind because we fell on hard times.

If it's a job working with children or vulnerable abults, they tend to check the Registry of Abuse and Neglect.Your name can be on it even without criminal charges.

No. Background checks only give information of a criminal record or not. It does not go into details of the record. It only gives a yes or no answer. Like, John S. Smith....criminal record? yes___no_x__
