I am answering on behalf of my parents, and I would say that they are very good listeners. Good question, though. I think this question is a sign that you are an awesome father. :)

No one ever listens until problems arise and even then they seem to have more important things to do. I was never heard and hardly ever seen now that I think about it... My mother now asks me - "how did you turn out he way you did"?
