What do you think would be a better choice for a 20 year old college student. I am thinking about trading in my car, and I am thinking either a GMC Envoy 2005, or a Chevy Equinox 2005. Which is a better choice? I need a 4WD most likely.

Unfortunately the Equinox does not come in 4WD, AWD or FWD. I know, because I used to sell them. I sold Chevey cars in Phoenix for nearly 3 years. Resale value wise, the Envoy (or it's counterpart the Trailblazer) is the better buy. Equinox is a fairly new vehicle (2004) and the resale value is still stabilizing. The Envoy comes in 4WD. It's sturdier and has a bigger engine. The upholstery and interior is nicer, and you can sit people more comfortably in it. Same is true of the Trailblazer. They are essentially the same vehicle with some minor cosmetic differences. Honestly, my opinion of the Eqinox is that it's a little "cheap and cheesy." I sold them, but I never really liked them.
