Why do some guys hit on girls in an offensive way when they know they'd get pissed if somebody did that to their younger sister?

Well, these are the kinds of guys who don't care very much about how people feel. They don't care if the girl is offended and they don't care if a brother or sister of the girl is offended.

My dad actually asked similar questions and warned us to beware of these guys. Well, it is rather simple, really. The guys you speak of have a double standard.

I think a lot of those guys have what I call split-brain syndrome. Rather than having one fully functional brain that's aware of that consideration their's is virtually dissected and the remaining portion is sent below. Perhaps if they were aware of their ignorance regarding that they would behave differently. ;)
