Why is the word homophobia used?? Phobia is fear, and I tend to notice most gay bashers don't fear the GLBT community as much as they hate it.

I think the prevailing view is that they hate it because they fear it.

A lot of times, hate stems from fear, and homophobia is a very good example of that.
