I haven't been taken, but helped a friend sue one that really cost my friend a small fortune and never finished the job.

I spent a summer shingling for a guy out of town and he was going to pay me when we got back. Didn't see him around much after the work was done. I figure he owed me around $4000. I would have liked to have taken him to court but the work was all under the table, so I just threatened his children. (not really)
