  • I'm disappointed actually. They should just let Alice in Chains rest in peace, and respect Layne Staley. I mean, yeah Jerry Cantrell is one talented guy and can write some sweet ass songs, but to market the new cd under Alice in Chains, and with a new singer just doesn't sit well with me.
  • well, it wouldn't be the first time..even when he was alive..the ep 'sap' was recorded without layne...they just added a few vocal tracks in after the fact. aside from that..i have always thought it was a little pathetic for bands to carry on in this way after losing an influential band member...jerry cantrell has been doing just fine with his solo career..he should let alice in chains rest in peace.
  • Money grabbing...
  • Oh FFS, why can't these bands just let things be (INXS was bad enough). I think it will be a flop and it's tacky. Layne WAS Alice in Chains--nuf said.
  • Im all for bands continuing to do what they are passionate about but they should be more respectful to the memories of their departed friends and change the name of the band! Its insulting especially because younger people who didnt know for example INXS back in the day will now just see the band for what it is now. Its just wrong and they should all be ashamed of themselves
  • Sounds like I'm the only one who thinks it's not a bad thing. The band was talented, Staley was just a drugged up singer. Don't get me wrong, I thought he was great when sober. Jerry Cantrell's two solo CDs were good in my opinion, so I'm all for it. Would it make everybody happy if they changed the band's name? That wouldn't bother me either.
