  • No, just ban the abusers.
  • You just hit on one of my pet peeves. When are we going to start making people responsible for their own actions?
  • We could create a Food Czar, then label it "The War On Food"
  • No. Food is just like any other thing that can be abused. People who overeat, just like any other person abusing any other substance, are making their own choices and facing the consequences. If someone who "Abuses Food" wants help to change their habits and lose weight, that help should be available. But people do not need to be "Protected" from their own free will.
  • That is a great idea, also, close the restaurants, and we should sue the farmers. LOL.
  • No, because then I wouldn't have a job.
  • The grocery stores are the suppliers of food.I comes down to the consumer to read all the labels with the ingredients listed on the side. Most processed food has sugar(sucrose) listed near the top of the list, which is unhealthy causing one to gain weight.Salt is high up on the list as well as preservatives that are questionable to good health.Fresh fruit and vegetables are sprayed with toxic chemicals.I could go one with a paragraph on the subject. It is the responsibility for the public to speak up to the FDA and demand the products are made more healthy for us.I just go the the health food stores, pay a little more and know I am getting healthy foods, and maintain my health and weight.
  • Sure, why not... we should also shut down all public roads because some people don't drive well. I also think the Internet should be closed because most people abuse it with porn
  • No everyone lives their own life! and if they want to abuse food and buy a load of junk .. Like me :D who cares?! The shops make profit!
  • Sure, right after we close down all the car dealerships because people drive badly and have accidents killing other people.
  • Not really. I think we should establish a food fascist/soup Nazi/strawberry Stalinist dictatorship that would take over all food places and make us all eat healthy! :D ;)
  • No, that would be a bit extreme...and where would people buy groceries? As someone who is a food addict, and still working to keep off all of the weight I've lost (I lost over 80 lbs on Weight Watchers and I'm now a Lifetime member), I know no one made me eat. I did it to myself. No one held a gun to my head. I have now learned to make better choices and I'm healthier now than I've been in years. Those who try to sue restaurants for making them fat are just avoiding taking responsibility for their own poor behavior.
  • How the hell can you abuse food? If you mean eating too much of it or eating unhealthy foods, then it is simply their right to spend their money and lives in such a manner. It doesn't affect anyone else, thus no one else has any place to decide how / what / when they eat. Also, you kinda need food to survive, so cutting off the supply just turns the problem of overeating into a problem of starvation, malnutrition, and otherwise poor health.
  • No, because people NEED food, regardless of whether or not they "abuse" it but eating too much or the wrong stuff. One cannot abuse food like one can abuse cocaine or alcohol, as it is something that one would literally die without. Also, not EVERYONE abuses food, so why take it away from the entire population when only a fraction of it is being irresponsible? Besides, if we closed down all the grocery stores, people would be at the mercy of restaurants, and would probably opt for fast food more often than not for the sake of cost and convenience...and we'd make the "food abuse" problem even worse!
  • Lets not stop there.... if we close the restaurants and sue the farmers, then we should nail the goverment for working with the farmers that are producing the food for the grocery stores and the restaurants. HHmmmmmm do I smell a conspiracy.
  • No. Clearly we need the government to regulate our food intake and issue us food rations.
  • let the people decide . those who over eat is their own problem i think it is even stupid to propose closing stores . alcohol prohibition never worked tobacco the killer smoke still kills , but not fast enough, drugs are still taken and forbidden. if some one wants to pig him/her self all day let them explode , on the other hand they should pay the medical expenses due to their self induced condition
