Why couldn't a wood chuck chuck wood? What says he can't? And why is he called a wood chuck if he doesn't? (chuck wood)

I think perhaps they might just be allowing for woodchucks with the unfortunate inability to chuck wood. Seriously tho, I actually had the same question way back in elementary school, and my teacher told me it was from an indian word for the little groundhog doods that SOUNDED like "woodchuck". Don't know if that's true but the guy was pretty smart
