Ok, while in a battle select her overdrive and rotate the right analog stick. The number of times you rotated the stick is the amount of times in which she casts the spell. This overdrive will not use MP as well. Hope this helps.

Yes, while the last guy was right, there's more you can do than that. For maximum efficiency, use both analog sticks and rotate them both in any direction as fast as possible until the timer expires.
