Most judges will carefully consider your opinion once you're 14. You will mostly likely also have a law guardian appointed for you; this person is an advocate for you and you alone. The court appoints that person; your parents do not choose him/her.

It probably depends on where you the live. In New Jersey, I believe you have the right to choose when you are 13 or older. Good luck. Choose wisely.
