In the case of animations, only that it encourages active anthropomorphism. In connection with direct contact between animals and humans it removes their dignity and makes any sort of training much more difficult than it needs to be. If you have a dog you have a dog, not a substitute baby.

Perhaps you've seen Grizzly Man? It's the best argument I can think of against anthropomorphizing wild animals.
