I like Bare Minerals, but just bought the Loreal version on a whim and it's fairly comparable.

I LOVE JackyMac Mineral Makeup at the moment. I first heard about it on the review centre website as I hadn't saw them b4. It's got a lovely creamy matt finish with no sparkle like bare escentuals has. It looks unbelievably natural. Great price and their brushes are of a high standard too.

L'Oreal has other things added apart from Mineral Pigments as do other high profile companies' product no matter how well it's marketed. You will need to read the labels and avoid TALC it is not good for the skin and very drying. Avoid Micronised minerals, especially MICRONISED Titanium Dioxide, there is much controversy about absorption into the blood stream when particles reach a Nano-particle size (and that's not good). Regular fine milled Soft Minerals with no Talc, No preservatives and No Parabens is your best bet. BEWARE of marketing strategies, they are in the business of making money, read the labels. Lily Lolo, Purely Mineral, Barefaced Beauty and Cosmetix Labs are a good bet.

My personal favorite is Valana Minerals [http://valanaminerals.com] because the nationally advertised brands don't adequately accommodate women who have yellow/gold, red or olive undertones with various combinations of red and blue.

I use Purely Mineral and it's fab! I have really sensative skin and this is the only mineral makeup that doesn't make my skin flare up. No postage charges either on their website, makes a pleasant change at the checkout!!!

i really like everyday minerals - they do fantastic little sampler pots to make sure you get the right shade and the concealers are fantastic.also do green powders to combat those red "flaws" everydayminerals.com i recommend there big buffer brush to work the minerals to there full potential

i LOVE bare minerals! i have very sensitive skin and any makeup i used would always make me break out... especially MAC! bare minerals actually improved my skin immediately (i noticed a huge difference after just one day). i can even sleep in the makeup and my skin is smooth and clear in the morning. anyone with acne or sensitive skin should definitely try bare minerals :)

i personally love bella pierre. i think its amazing. high street brands like loreal's versions of mineral foundation a cheaper, but nowhere near as good. they have so many ingredients in them, they only really contain a small percentage of minerals. whereas bella pierre only has about 5ingredients in them, mostly minderals. and i find the high streed brands are really cakey, and give really bad coverage. BP is amazing at covering any redness on your face and i find it helps my skin. and gives a really nice glow. would recommend it to anyone. essay over :)
