  • I believe they have some restrictions by God.
  • The devil, Lucifer, is a fallen angel. He chose his will over God's, and so did all Lucifer's followers.
  • As Muslims follow a lot of what Christ did I suppose one could allow expression of the HQ's take on angels here. HQ 66:6 says the angels "flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from God, but do (precisely) what they are commanded." that indicates they have no free will. According to HQ the one that disobeyed God's command was "ibleece" but he was no angel he was another being called Jinn. HQ 18:50 says that when God commanded all to bow down to Adam "They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord." Angels are made from light and Man from clay, so what about the Jinn? Well HQ 15:27 says "And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind."
  • Well, they do in the sense that they can rebel (like Lucifer), but they don't in the sense that they can't "choose" to disbelieve in his existence, as humans can (not that we "choose" it, exactly, but it is still a freedom we can exercise that angels can't).
  • Yes, You see what happened in heaven with Lucifer and one third of the angels fell with him. Doing their own will.
  • Free will is an illusion. It's like rubber bands. You can leave the path but eventually you get pulled back.
