Does Superman actually "fly" or does he just leap?

    The original concept in the 1930s was that Superman was "able to leap tall buildings in a single bound". But that was quickly found to be too limiting, so they quietly changed that into the ability to fly.

    He flies. If he leapt, he could not change course in mid-air, as he has done countless times in print, TV, and movies.

    i dont know why this is a question... but what the ??... Super man flies i doubt anyone could,(leap that far....) look at the movie for example... well just watch the movie, Well thats what I said first. But smallville disagrees with me... Smallville shows young superman jumping. And to think there was a colony of these guys before.
