This depends on the condition of the battery and wiring but a good range would be 12-13.8 volts. If the battery was drained, you can see 14+ for a short time.

You should be getting somewhere above 12.5, but less than 14.5. (ish) Are you reading from a point directly out from the alternator, or after the regulator?
