Personally, I think simple is best. I like basic, understated gold rings (not white gold) of a medium width. Very traditional.

Whatever you like. It should match your personality. For me, I'm hoping to get a claddaugh (Irish) kind.

Something you both can live with for th erest of your lives. Something that will still look lovely to you 30 years later. A ring without large poky things that can catch or maim.

I also suggest simple; the styles may go out of style, if that is your worry. I myself just like simple. Both my wife and I have simple white gold bands, and hers has a simple diamond on her wedding band, with the lowest setting possible.

Take my advice: give her whatever she wants. That one's not an argument you're going to win, or get her to compromise on and be happy. As for me, I went with the simplest, plain gold band I could find -- I'm not looking to show off or be flashy, just to announce to the rest of the world that I'm "off the market"...

We each picked our own wedding bands. I got something that matched my engagement ring and he got something that suited his taste. They don't match, they don't have to.

According to me you should go for a simple wedding bands with yellow gold & if budget is no issue go for platinum or white gold. To give yourself more options visit : http://www.b2cjewels.com/

Our wedding bands are simple white gold and mine has a tiny diamond set in the band, not raised on it. They are cut to where the the light makes the shimmers on it go vertical instead of horizontal around the ring finger (if that makes sense) and look very classic and modern at the same time. And they were actually fairly inexpensive if you compared them to the more fancy, somewhat gaudy bigger and brighter rings. I believe a wedding band should be simple and elegant and be something you know you will be happy with for years to come.

Unless you have money coming out of your ears, consider an alternative metal, such as a tungsten wedding band which is permanently polished and scratch resistant. At $99 instead of $1000 for platinum, I think it's a good choice. I like the ones at http://www.weddingringsforever.com best.
