Because we're a culture that likes to work at everything. We're addicted to work and so even our play becomes work. A game like tetris should be relaxing and enjoyable; instead we begin to treat it like a job, like something we *have* to do, and then it's not fun anymore. That's my experience, anyway.

Because it's so simple and takes forever to finish as long as you don't get your blocks to the top.
