Drop whatever I am carrying..kick off my shoes and take a walk just at the water's edge.

I stand there at the shore for a few minutes and take in the view of the ocean. It never fails to amaze me.

Set up my sailboard and get off the beach and onto the water.

Lay out my towel and set all my stuff around it. Make a pillow of my clothes. Then I go to the water and dip my toes in or more.

Stand facing the waves and take in a full breath of air and saver it's freshness. Being someone born and raised on the coast and now live 100 miles inland, I always take a moment when I head back to the ocean.

Pick what i feel to be an ideal spot that allows easy access to the water, good people watching, relatively short distance to the restroom, and someplace compatible for shade.

soak my feet and walk by the beach. i love the feeling of getting sand on my feet.

Make "islands" of sand at the shore and watch the water wear them down.

Play sand castle wars. We make lots of sand castles, protect them with mounds or moats or whatever, then throw bowls (small, heavy balls) at each others. It's not a good idea to play this with lots of people about though. ;)

relax, lye down on my boyfriends lap.. sip on some nice cold beer.. and meet new people! ohh and listen to the nice acoustic guitar players thats are friends with my boyfriend, its soooo comforting

Check out the temperature of the water. If it's tooooo cold then that's where I stay, "on the beach". lol
