Is anyone else irritated by people's writing capability when it comes to computers or (especially) SMS messages? I'm talking about ur this n that abrviatns of alredy shrt englsh wrds...know what I mean?

Just makes it quicker if you dont have time for a lengthy sms.

for my cell provider its 75cents a message and you only get about 150 characters per message. you have to shorten the words unless you wanna pay $5 every time you have something to tell someone. it took a long time to get used to the abbreviations but it saves the cash

Save effort. I am envious when people are typing out text and their thumb is moving at the speed of light

And what about when your on msn and you can see the person is typing for ages, and your expecting something long, deep and meaningful? And it turns out the person is just a slow writer and has put "nothin much u?" ARGH!

No it does not irritate me at all. Why does it get on your nerves so much?

If you are in a public forum such as AB, spell it out. If you are texting between friends, shorten what you want. But people need to remember and learn real spelling and grammar for daily life.
