  • No, Because if you have an infection in your mouth or a sore throat then the dentist has to prescribe an antibiotic for you so that you can get rid of the infection or sore throat and then have you come back to see if the infection is gone and then the dentist office can take care of the oral surgery appointment from there. A dentist can only do oral surgery if you are not sick or have the flu and completely well from the flu or from the cold. I had a cold before and the dentist wouldn't do anything until my cold was all gone and that I was completely well from my cold and that was just for the dentist to clean my teeth. Debbra Sherouse
