  • No they do not have to notify you at all. How it works is this. you leased a car which you signed papers stating you would make payments to drive the car for a certain amount of time. also in that agreement you sign it stated what would happen if you failed to keep up those payments. Now the contract vary with each company so you really should read your copy of the lease agreement. Many have you will pay all damage that is done to the automobile when the lease is up and any unauthorized changes will be paid by you. They will come to repossess the automobile and if you do not hand it over or make it an issue, all they have to do is go to the police department and swear out a warrant for your arrest for driving a now stolen vehicle. Because making those payments makes you legal failure the automobile goes right back to the original owner. So if I were you I would read your lease agreement.
