Why are SUV's so popular?

Most are popular because of the size and especially the ability to do well in snow and ice. Also a lot of SUV's are getting great gas mileage now. I have a Honda CRV and I love it. Plus I am very short and everyone seemed to have one, so I thought I needed one to be able to see over the other cars.

Because they are like driving a truck only you can carry more people. They are versatile as well and good for bad weather conditions like snow. Also, they are bigger and make people feel safe in an accident instead of being in a little compact car. If you don't have to commute too far they are a good overall vehicle.
