Do you know that a person being heterosexual means the the same thing as a person being straight? And a person being straight is the same as being heterosexual? Please, don't be word-a-phobic, ok?

They're synonyms which is only human nature. Straight is a much shorter word. They have the same MEANING but will tend to be used in different CONTEXTS. Heterosexual is a more factual word, straight is more social and casual. This is just the human nature of communicating.

um yes Comes from greek - hetros being different. SO Male and Female (different sexes) would be heterosexuality. Homo- prefix means the same as in homogeneous (homosexual - persons of the same sex)
