  • Why do Christians believe the story of Moses speaking to God through a burning bush when we all know bushes wouldn't burn OR talk for at least another millenia? Some people just value the belief system for its personal and social effects, not for its literal truth value.
  • These are religious belief systems, they don't need historical proof to be effective. The purpose is provide a moral platform on which people without philosophocal or theological tendancies can build a life. There are no Mormon churches that advocate cutting off peoples' heads...are you retarded or just utterly juvenille and wasting your intelligence arguing about when steel was invented in order to try taking credence from a belief system that has only provided many people with many benefits and has hurt RELATIVELY few in the process. Let people have their faith, even if you don't agree with it, its not hurting you and its not hurting them...get a life, Mr. Theological Destructivist or whatever your ill concieved notion of self happens to be. Stop harping on happy people and get over your self-depreciating misery. Get on with your life and find some way to support the positive thoughts of others. You may end up destroying yourself and your potential.
  • Mormons will believe anything. They are quite good at that.
  • It would be because we have a record stating that Laban had a sword of the finest steel. Some good information is available here: http://ldsdoctrine.blogspot.com/2007/05/metal-and-book-of-mormon.html
  • It's religion. It's not supposed to make sense, only be blindly accepted.
  • Actually, steel was made as far back as, like, 1500BC...or something. Anyway, it's way back there. When was this sword supposed to have existed?
  • bah, not to be so forward, but the finest steel is damascus steel hand forged, and folded by the japanese. I know I've used them all.
  • A simple reading of the King James Version of the Bible shows that steel existed before 600 BC 2 Sam. 22: 35 35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Job 20: 24 24 He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through. Ps. 18: 34 34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Jer. 15: 12 12 Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel? but you know this already don't you TheicidalManiac. Maybe a little more time studying the scriptures and a little less time trying to defame a good faith will help you with the real question your seeking.
