  • No, she cannot. You cannot have anykind of firearm registered or not around a felon. Heck you are not suppose to be around other felons never the less a gun...Good question ..
  • I believe you can own firearms that are replicas of firearms produced before 1885. (black powder)
  • I was a felon about 10 yrs ago & I was not allowed to be around guns, people engaged in illegal activities, etc. You don;t have to let your PO know that she has one...what they don't know won't hurt them & I doubt that they take up their precious time investigating your family. Just as long as you don't have any of your finger prints on the gun just in case something happened, you should be OK. If the gun ever did get any attention, just tell them that you had no idea that she had it. Don't sweat it. But in sort, your wife is not allowed to have a gun PERIOD. At least that's how it is in FL.
  • Regardless of ownership, if you know about the firearm and have access to it, then you have the ability to exercise dominion and control over the firearm. In other words, even if your wife owns the firearm, you may be held criminally liable for actual or constructive possession of the firearm.
  • Not in the same household you live in. You can't be around any by law.
  • NO! Your wife cannot have a gun. And she knows you're a felon so that won't fly about NOT KNOWING. Geesh! It's amazing what you people can come up with.
  • No. If your house is searched and gun is found, you are in violation of the law. It does not matter that the gun is owned by your wife.
  • Nope, unfortunately if you live in the same house you cannot....ugh, I understand your frustration!
  • only samll loop hole and that has to be check state by state is that it can be kept in a locked safe that you have no access in a room that you have no access to, again locked. should be checked with law in your area, have someone else check laws to see how they read for you state or county
  • depending on your felony u can own a hunting rifle, u still can get a cool one for protection
  • Depends on what you do to her...lol
  • ...you better not have a gun near by then...just in case.
  • Almost certainly. Ask a lawyer to look up the law in your state. I can almost guarantee you that there is a way for your wife to own a gun. Make sure to ask for a copy of any law your lawyer cites, and keep a copy with the gun. (just in case)
  • It depends on local laws. In Texas a felon can own a firearm in their home after the 5th anniversary of their release from custody, but not transport it in a vehicle or carry it on their person outside their home. This extends to anyone else they get in the car with or live with. Your wife could not keep a gun in her center console and have you ride in the vehicle. She could not keep a firearm in the house with you before the 5th anniversary of your release even though you may not touch or use the firearm the act of keeping it in the same house as you is illegal. In Louisiana depending on the particular felony a felon may have full rights to own a firearm just as any other citizen may. These are just some of the laws for Texas and Louisiana off the top of my head. You'll need to check your local laws for the specifics that apply to you. Since I don't know where you are I can't comment on the specifics of such.
  • You should already know the answer to your question. its stated on your Probationary Rules and Regulations. No she cannot not. Its too easily accesible by you.
  • No, unless it's a blackpowder gun. You can even own a blackpowder gun.
  • can you have your rights restored?
  • No guns for felons. I'm a felon & I feel personally sorry for the Muther Fucka who breaks into my house because he's outta here by way of machete. No mercy killing from me. Can you say chopped up and thrown out the fuckin door.
  • You know the rules of probation for an ex-convict. you signed the papers acknowleging the rules to follow. No, you cannot even be in a house with a firearm. You know this.
  • I am pretty damm sure you cannot be in a house with a firearm.
