It has encouraged me to do research I would not have done without someone asking a question I need the research to answer, especially in the WWII categories. I like to give accurate answers at all times and I have spend, at times, quite a bit of time digging for accurate information. I have learned about a broader spectrum of all sorts of things than I would have without it. Mainly it alleviates boredom. So, yes, it has been beneficial to me.

Yes... and helpful. There ARE those who seriously want help and answers to their question. Here, they can get that and remain relatively anonymous, AND, they can get it from a number of people. Most will be serious, though some may joke or be dicks about it. It's productive in the sense that you learn, whether from someone's questions, the answers, or the discussions in the comments. Many who try to answer also learn how to research and search on the web, sometimes finding out there is even more information out there than they ever thought or knew.

I love it. First I find many questions fascinating. Sometimes I feel I have been able to help someone and I see examples of others helping people with excellent answers. Then I notice trends in some types of questions. For example, one of the most prevalent questions in the SOCIAL section deal with relationships. I would say, judging only from these questions, that relationship problems begin in the early teens and extend all the way to the end of life. I am also amazed at some of the callous answers, heartless answers and downright mean answers. I am also surprised at the ratings given many answers. Some are rated much higher than I would have thought, some lower than they deserve. But overall, I find the site entertaining, instructive, educational and time consuming (and somewhat addictive).
