  • I think it was July 20, 1969. I'm sure it was July, 1969 but I'm not positive about the exact date. I know I'm just being a picayune pain in the butt by saying this but the first man actually died in about July, 4 million BC so he never got the chance to walk on the moon. ;) JK.

  • Not on his first date, obviously. One must not do things to a heavenly body on a first date

The astronaut stepped onto the Moon's surface, in the Sea of Tranquility, at 0256 GMT, nearly 20 minutes after first opening the hatch on the Eagle landing craft. Armstrong had earlier reported the lunar module's safe landing at 2017 GMT with the words: "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed." As he put his left foot down first Armstrong declared: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." He described the surface as being like powdered charcoal and the landing craft left a crater about a foot deep. 'We came in peace' .
  • I'm sorry. I should have said "Never", because Adam was the First Man, and he never left the earth
  • G'day Natedog, Thank you for your question. The moon landing occurred on 20 July 1969. The first walk on the moon was on the next day on 21 July 1969. I remember watching it on TV as a child. I have attached sources for your reference. • Don't you mean to ask: "When was the moon landing filmed on a top secret studio set?"
  • Re royal77's answer about Armstrong's declaration: That's one small step for man, etc; that famous of all quotes is actually nonsense because Man and Mankind are the same thing. The Americans in some kind of post-facto justification (if you ask me) suggested in more recent years that the transmission lost the word "a", as in That's one small step for a man, which would make sense, but on reviewing the tape it seems clear to me that there was no "a" said, nor any space for an "a". The most famous remark Mankind (!!) has uttered therefore remains nonsensical.
