Yes, it is, but plenty of the high level Baggers here have them and are quite open about them. The Staff are also aware of a number of them, but apparently it isn't "technically against the terms and conditions of AB" to have a sock puppet for those purposes. Go figure.

Morally, no. Ethically, probably. But whose ethics are you using to make the call? We can all choose our own moral or ethical values, so who is to say?

I've noticed there are various types of sockpuppets. If an account or accounts are created for the sole purpose of self-boosting, I find it very sad, really.

People can do whatever the hell they want, and while I don't find it ''morally wrong'' per se, I find it to be a pretty sad and pathetic way to boost one's popularity and further a mythos about oneself. I'd rather be perceived as intelligent or popular or fun or whatever because people actually think I am. If I ever get to some super high level on here, it will all be your fault, not mine. :)
