  • Set Congressional term limits...Although I don't like our current president...most of our country's problem stem from the political deadlock in Congress...serving in a political office should not be a "career", but a civic duty. That and LAZY citizens who don't vote...How can we convince the world that democratic government is desirable when under half of our citizens don't/won't participate in the democratic process?
  • That is one thing I am not . . . politically apathetic.
  • something other than Gordon Brown.
  • You can't cure what you don't have...

  • Ron Paul cured my apathy.
  • Break-up the bi-factional elite's control of both major parties who essentially only give the people a choice between A and A! (The only difference between the administrations of any of the Presidential candidates (aside for Ron Paul) is the rhetoric, the posturing, and the occassional bone thrown to the dupes in their "base". Overall policy will be essentially the same.) Specifics: 1. Increase the number of Electors to 30,000 (1 per 10,ooo people) who have to run by name with no mention of party affilliation (so that people are voting for someone they either know or at least know something about other than what they read in the papers and see on the tube) who are completely free to vote their conscience. 2. Give these Electors all power to elect the Congressional Representative from their district as well as the President. 3. Don't allow anyone to announce his candidacy for the House or the Presidency until after the Electors are chosen. 4. End the direct election of Senators, and go back to having them appointed by the State governments.. 5. Restrict the vote to people who know that the purpose of government is NOT solving social and economic problems (it can only cause them) but to protect life, limb and property from criminals and foreign enemies and to enforce the rule of law (i.e., men).
