  • Im not suprised i reported someone for cruelty gave a name and address and was more or less told to shove off, after that i dont give to them anymore, and a cat charity here in my home town i found a starving cat and kittens and when i asked for help they wernt interested now if i was giving them money it would be probably differant i dont donate to either charities now badley let down by both....supposed to love animals i dont think so,money yes they all love that.
  • The animal control here is so busy with dangerous dog calls and dead animal pick up they cannot even begin to work on every call. The taxpayers don't want to pay for the services, so when the government cuts back, the services disappear. Remember the good old days when people knew how to take care of their own neighborhoods and didn't have to call on someone to do it for them?
  • If you really want to do something for them, you could try to set a humane live trap like a Hav-A-Hart trap. Local SPCAs rarely seem to care these days about anything other than their spay and neuter programs.
  • Outraged! Our SPCA here has the same policy with animals. I even had a crazed raccoon in my backyard that came down from the tree during the DAY hours and stalked my small terrier. I had to go out with my dog on a leash with a broom to ward off the raccoon. I think it must have been rabid or something. The SPCA refused to come out because it was a "wild" animal. I called my vet and she took care of it - complained to the main person there and someone was out right away. It was a danger to people and other animals! Also, they will not come out for a stray dog or cat either unless that animal is contained. The only exception is if it's on a highway or main road and causes a concern that cars may be involved in an accident as a result o dodging it. How sad. I really think something needs to be adjusted with how that organization is run.
  • Yes you are wrong. It sounds like their simply wild rabbits. Let them be and wish them luck! :)
  • Doubtful. The SPCA, whatever side of the ocean, seems often to dispense the very cruely they are supposed to be battling, and it disgusts me. You'd think they were some sort of government organisation by the indifference they peddle when you need something from them, as opposed to the other way around. In 1992, my wife (then girlfriend) ran over a cat, and more or less sent the poor thing on it's way to eternity. But just more or less. The ASPCA came and snatched him up, as per our call to them, and we subsequently discovered that they allowed him to live through a full sixteen hours - with intestines and such bulging out of his abdomen! The answer: "There was no-one available to euthanise him at 11:00 at night." Well, SPCA, fuck you, and your morning nobody appears to work. I would have done it myself, if need be. With a shovel. Or the same car we ran him over with in the first place. I would have done it with my bare hands if I had known he was destined to suffer further. I despise the SPCA in any form because of this occurance, and the indifference they demonstrated through it. I send them money now and then because I know they also do good work, but I will be eternally bitter for the pain they allowed a poor innocent cat to experience sixteen years ago. Because of this, the lion's share of our family's charitable contributions go to private sanctuaries.
