Build a routine and you will remember much better.
  • I have to take medicine 3 times a day. So I set alarms for each time and I keep my medicine near the alarm. You also are supposed to take thyroid medication 30 minutes before or 1 hr after food or other medication. So you might want to take it immediately when you wake up.
  • I too have to take Thyroid medication each day. First you need to realize how important taking the medication the same time every day really is. If you are taking thyroid medication it either means your thyroid is not functioning or is under producing. Your thyroid is a vital part of your body in what it does for you. Weather you know it or not, it stimulates your pituitary gland which indirectly controls your emotions, your weight, and many many other vital parts of your life. By taking it irregularly you are setting yourself up for nothing but heartache, depression, lack of sex drive, erratic emotional episodes and so much more. What I do to remember taking my meds each day is I set my pills out the night before I go to bed. I set them either in the kitchen or in the bathroom. I you go to the bathroom first thing in the morning it's quite simple to remember. Just have a bottle of water sitting on the sink. Take the pill before you pee and your done for the day. Take my advice, I have no thyroid and by me taking my medication the same time every day I have found my life much more manageable. I also have other medications I need to take at different times, one pill at 9am and one at 9 pm. This is a little tougher but I again set the meds out the night before and if I have to leave before 9 I put the pill in my pocket if I'm going to be gone until after 9 I put both of them in my pocket and I have a text message sent to me each day at 9 and 9 to remind me. You can use your email program to sent you the alert each day if it is a problem. I hope this helps you. Just remember how important it is that you take your medicine. After a few weeks of doing this you will not have any problem remembering, it becomes a habit.
