goodonya!!!!... great to hear that your giving it a go, I used 'nicobrevin' after trying many other things to give up the ciggies and I had no side effects at all that I did with the others , I think it was because nicobrevin has no nicotine in it, but again its great to see you having a go ....:):):)

How would you know if it was the Chantix making you bitchy? LMAO!!! you know I'm kidding! I don't know a lot of folks that have tried Chantix, so I don't know a lot about it. I know people who've stopped smoking using Wellbutrin. And I know a few people who've tried the patch and a few who tried the auricular therapy (the electrical stimulus to the earlobes). However, the people I know who tried those last two methods failed...but I think it's because they really didn't want to stop smoking badly enough (and also, didn't really believe those methods would help). Me, I developed a chronic migraine problem in college that forced me to quit smoking...1-2 cigs and I'd have a blinding migraine.

My husband smoked for 50 years and I smoked for 40. We had tried about everything to quit, including Welbutrin the patch, the gum, hypnosis... nothing worked. We took Chantix last October and it was easier than we we expected. We were allowed to keep smoking for as long as we wanted, so there was not that panicky feeling of never getting to smoke again. It just became less enjoyable and after a week for him and about 10 days for me, we just didn't feel like smoking anymore. Not only were we not bitchy, we were pretty mellow. The side effects were fairly unpleasant: gastric distress, a hard time sleeping and weird dreams. We toughed it out, knowing that it was temporary. I think he stopped taking the Chantix after 5 weeks and I went the whole 6. I would say it is fairly incredible and well worth it. Just to be able to draw a deep breath or laugh without going into paroxysms of coughing is a great feeling.
