  • I would always say "n years ago" or "n minutes ago", never "n years back". The use of "back" is a implied contraction I would guess "n years back from today" which still sounds and looks very clunky. "Ago" derives from "passed away" so it would read "n years passed away" which makes far more sense. I would go with "ago" I am afraid.
