We only see reflected light when we 'see' stuff. Anyone have any idea how thick a layer of photons has to be to appear as something we 'see'? There is some room for conjecture here.

I found quite a difference in answers, ranging from 1 photon to 10 billion! 10 to the 10th power (10,000,000,000 = 10 billion in US terminology, 10 thousand million in British terminology) protons are needed for humans to detect the light.
