There were supposedly 4 rivers in the vicinity of the Garden. Two of those rivers are the Tigris and the Euphrates. The other two may have changed course. By plotting where those rivers may have been, they think the Garden was in the area of southeastern Iraq. They have even drilled for oil in the area and it seems to be unusually rich soil.
the original site of the garden of eden is conjectural. the principal means of identifying its geographic location is the bible's description of the river "issuing out of Eden," which thereafter divided into four "heads," producing the rivers named as the eupharates, hidekkel, pishon, and gihon. the euphrates is well known, and "hidekkel" is the name for the tigris in ancient inscriptions. the other two rivers, the pishon and the gihon, however, are unidentified.
some such as calvin and delitzsch, have argued in favor of eden's situation somewhere near the head of the persian gulf in lower mesopotamia, approximately at the place where the tigris and the euphrates draw near together. they associated the pishon and gihon with canals between these streams. however, this would make these rivers tributaries, rather than branches dividing off form an original source. the hebrew text points, rather to a location in the mountainous region north of the mesopotamia plains, the area where the euphrates and tigris rivers have their present sources. thus the anchor bible, in its notes on genesis 2:10, states: "in hebrew the mouth of the river is called "end"; hence the pluralof ro's 'head' must refer here to the uppercourse...this latter usage is well attested for the akkadian cougnate resu." the fact that the eupharates and tigris rivers do not now proceed from a single source, as well as the impossibility of definiteley determining the identification of the pishon and gihon rivers, is possibly explained by the effect of the noachian flood, which undoubtedly altered considerably the topographical features of the earth, filling in the courses of some rivers and creating others.
the traditional location for the garden of eden has long been suggested to have been a mountainous area some 140 miles southwest of mount ararat and a few miles south of lake van, in the eastern part of modern turkey. that eden may have been surrounded by some natural barrier, such as mountains, could be suggested by the fact that cherubs are stated to have been stationed only at the east of the garden, from which point adam and eve made their exit.-genesis 3:24
after adam's banishment from the paradisaic garden, with no one to "cultivate it and to take care of it," it may be assumed that it merely grew up in natural profusion with only the animals to inhabit its confines until it was obliterated by the surging waters of the flood, its location lost to man except for the divine record of its existence.-genesis 2:15 for more information visit www.watchtower.org

Supposedly!
No, the most lilely location of the Mythical Garden of Eden was probably in Kurdiatan in a valley in North West Iran near the city of Tabriz.
That is the conclusion of David Rohl in the book "Legand:The Genesis of Civilisation"
The Sahara Dessert was completely covered with vegetation thousands of years ago, so we can expect that Iraq was very different during those days.
i take it this way...i believe that the world really was pangea...the garden of eden was in west africa thats where it all started....but the world had erosion and everything moved apart.... so i think the garden of eden is the bermuda triangle..why? well because the bible says that the garden of eden is in the earth, angels are guarding it so that no one can come in....every place of the world has been explored (except the whole ocean)but the garden of eden is in land. all of the planes, boats submarines nd ppl that go in there dont come out...therefore no one knows whats in there....so this makes it pretty obvious that that is the garden of eden...well at least thats my theory

In my opinion, Pangea in it's entirety, was the Garden of Eden. We were put here to take care of it. And as a result of our failure, it was split into several "continents". Maybe we all had different ideas and beliefs on how the garden should have been tended to. Maybe, because of that, the world is in the state it's in. Maybe if we were all still looking after the garden as a whole and working as one, our lives, our world, our future would be in better shape. We were blessed with free will. Could that be why we're living so misguided? Don't we know that this place has plenty to go around? Why must we be fighting each other over our petty and insignificant differences? When will the day come that we all realize that all this tug-of-war is getting us nowhere. I hope it's soon. For our sake.
Do you think the bible should be renamed "Fear And Loathing In The Middle East"?
