  • If your computer lets you, download AVG and run it. It is the best (IMHO) free anti-virus program available. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0
  • Which virus?
  • Disconnect from Internet immediately. Purchase store bought, not downloaded spyware program like Spyware Doctor. On an uninfected machine install program, update to with latest updates, copy to cd or flashdrive, install in infected computer and run program. Then restart cumputer. Then purchase (or borrow) a 'second' spyware program and repeat, as good measure, so that if some items were still on infected computer you get ride of them. Restart, then run both prgorams again once more. If they show clean, you can reconnect to Internet. To prevent same happening, swich to Firefox as operating system and Thunderbird as email system.
  • Not sure why you were marked down for this... First, just strange behaviour doesn't mean you have a virus. Second, install both a spyware and an antivirus product, update them to the latest bleeding edge updates and run a full scan of your system. If you can't find and/or fix the problem, create a HiJackThis http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5554.html log and paste it here: http://www.miraclesalad.com/webtools/clip.php?clip=10b3 I'll try to help out...
