No i don't think 7,000 is worth bankruptcy in my opinion. Do you have parents to help you out with anything..And I;m sure you can find some way to make money.

I don't think that is a good option for you given the amount of debt. If you were to try bankruptcy, you would have to pass what is called a means test. You would have to prove that you can't pay the debt off and there is no income coming in to pay this debt. It is a mathematical formula used to compute this number. Second, if you wanted to declare bankruptcy, you need to be able to pay the attorney to do the bankruptcy or otherwise do it yourself. also, this will negatively effect your credit for 10 years. This is a heavy price to pay for clearing 7k. My suggestion is to borrow money from friends or do something strange, call your creditors and explain the situation and try to negotiate different payment terms. If this doesn't work at least you have a defense when you are sued for the debt.

You have two things working for you: 1) It's only $7000. 2) You have a medical condition that prevents you from working. Here is what I suggest: Call the creditor and tell them your situation. Get the payments and the interest rates lowered now. Work out a delayed payment program until you get out of school. Also, think about asking them (assuming they are a bank) if you could roll that amount into a student loan where the lower interest accumulates and you don't make payments on the loan until after you graduate. If you are worried about your credit score DO NOT do the following: 1) File Bankruptcy. 2) Go for one of the CCCS or credit service plans. They're just as bad as BKRT on your credit score.

I would not advise bankruptcy. What kind of bills are these? STUDENT LOANS ARE NOT BANKRUPTABLE. Contact your lender(s) and ask to be put on hardship deferral. Most credit cards are unsecured. They will threaten to sue you and garnish your wages and make your life a living Hell, but they will likely only continue calling and being generally rude. If this is the case, close/cancel the card(s) so that interest and fees don't continue accumulating. Also, tell them when they call that you have a medical condition and now way to pay back the money and that their calling/harassing you is causing you EMOTIONAL DISTRESS and to not call you again. Send them a letter certified mail, return receipt requested, stating that you do not wish them to contact you further regarding this debt. (There are templates for this on the internet.) If these are for medical bills, contact the hospital/doctors and let them know your situation and see if they have any sort of program to help with payments, especially considering your condition. Are you on SSI/Social Security Disability? If not, you should apply. You may need the aid of a lawyer, however, because it can be difficult to be accepted the first time around. With a check, you should be able to help pay for your expenses as well as paying off the debt you've incurred.
