I don't think it's possible to be nailed to a cross without shedding blood. They drove nails through his wrists and ankles... But to answer your question, no I don't think a bloodless sacrifice would have been proper. The Old Testament Jews shed the blood of their animal sacrifices according to the law about sin offerings, so for Jesus to sacrifice his body as a sin offering without shedding blood would not have been "kosher."

Hebrews 9:22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
-
the sacrifice"s in the OT were the "blood of the lamb" . in the NT , Jesus was "the lamb" and it had to be the way it was. HE suffered and shed HIS blood for us and HE only had to do ONCE..for forgiveness of our sins

If He had been hung or poisoned, there would not have been blood shed ... but to be crucified requires the loss of blood as both the feet and wrists are nailed and death is by the slow loss of blood combined with thirst ... as such, His slow loss of blood and his thirst are what was chosen as the instruments of salvation ... drinking His blood, becomes a symbol of faith and the faith is what saves.

You are only supposed to ask one question at a time. The rules are simple.

NO!! "The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin."
-
It's the blood of Jesus that saves, heals, and redeems..This question was posted on my birthday!! i couldn't ask for a better present.thank you!

Maybe it does not need to be taken so literally. Perhaps blood is just symbolic for life. If someone said 'there was no bloodshed' it could mean there was no killing, no loss of life. For those who believe that God sacrificed His Son, is it a greater loss to God if His Son died with blood gushing out and less of a loss if there was just a trickle of blood? Is loss of blood the usual cause of death for those crucified? If the gushing out of blood was important, as in animal sacrifice, wouldn't God have ordained the death of Jesus by the sword of the Roman or the traitor?

Hypothetically speaking, if God was real and if Jesus was the Son, then certainly sinners would still have been redeemed.Jesus would still have died and therefore, according to biblical teachings, this would have saved everyone whether or not he did or didn't bleed, which in retrospect, would seem even more god-like if he didn't bleed while dying.
-
I think the best way to explain this is to know ALL PROPECY of the Messiah as foretold in the OT and then the Fullfillments in the New Testament...HE had to suffer and it had to be FULFILLED as God told it would be.....God's Will...Jesus came to do this....not HIS>>>

Your question deals with the Pauline Gospel of Blood for sin. Jesus DID NOT PREACH Paul's Gospel. Jesus preached the Kingdom Gospel which was completely different. So you have nothing to worry about, since the Original Kingdom Gospel was not about the shedding of blood. If you have any interest in the Gospel that Jesus himself was preaching, this is an excellent resource: Gospel Enigma It's the 10th free eBook here: http://newfreebooks.com

I think God would never have allowed his only son to be killed without ensuring that we would be redeemed as a result. So if blood was the necessary "ingredient," Jesus would never have been up on that cross if he wasn't shedding/about to shed blood. There is scripture which suggests that blood was that necessary ingredient but we can never know for sure. God is eternally mysterious.

We were redeemed because Jesus took our sins, and of course Aadam's sin, up with him on the cross and put them to death, as well as laying down His own life of His own accord, so that He could take it up freely again (His resurrection). The blood of Christ is also what washed us clean, which is why we partake of it in Holy Communion, it was to be given "for the remission of sins". But even if this is a hypothetical question, it is still impossible that Christ came and died for us without loosing blood. It would be impossible, and we should really be focusing on the fact that HE DID come and HE DID save us,and not question God's sacrifice and His love.

Jewish law required a sacrifice of the first born. Jesus was the sacrificial lamb. God's work is complete and we were told about it in the old testement. Now, the body and blood are customs carried over from ancient times, I believe.

Why ask questions like this in the first place? Can a tree be cut down in the forest with a chain saw, and not leave any saw dust or wood chips? Those who are "on the outside" , or not "born again" as the Bible states, cannot understand any of the salvation "process" that was accomplished on the cross of Christ. Can a dog get fleas, and not scratch at his fur? What if an airliner that was loaded with fuel, slammed into the ground, and it didn't explode or burn? Jesus could not die on the cross, nor could anyone, without shedding blood! Can you get shot by a shotgun, and not shed any blood? If all the water, in all the world, was taken away, can you still go swimming in the ocean, and get wet?
