  • Weight training causes micro tears in your muscle fibers. Your muscles need at least one day of rest in order to grow. During this rest period, human growth hormone repairs and rebuilds the torn muscle fibers making them stronger and bigger. If your muscles do not get the necessary rest, this repair process will not take place, and you can actually lose muscle mass. If you weight train every day, do a split routine, working on different muscle groups on alternate days. The ideal time frame for 5kg of muscle gain would be around 4 weeks.
